A Matter of Balance fall prevention program program goal: To help participants manage their fear of falling, increase their activity levels, and reduce the risk of falls. Who should attend: Anyone who has fallen in the past or has restricted their activities because of a fear of falling. Program structure: Consists of 8 two-hour sessions, held weekly. Sessions can be offered in-person or virtually. Key components: Viewing falls as controllable, Setting goals for increasing activity, Identifying common factors that contribute to falls, Making changes to reduce fall risks in the home, Exercising to increase strength and balance.
